Ski-Hi Stampede Returns

Tickets Now On Sale for Colorado’s Oldest Pro Rodeo

The countdown is officially on for one of the San Luis Valley’s most anticipated summer traditions. The Ski-Hi Stampede returns to Monte Vista July 9–12, 2026, marking its 104th year as Colorado’s oldest professional rodeo.

Organizers have announced that tickets for both the rodeo and the highly anticipated Thursday night concert are now officially on sale. This year, attendees can purchase tickets online ahead of the traditional box office opening, giving locals and visitors an early opportunity to secure their seats.

With roots that stretch back more than a century, the Ski-Hi Stampede has become a cornerstone event in the San Luis Valley. While the rodeo has taken brief pauses in its long history — including interruptions during World War II and a recent pause during the COVID-19 pandemic — it has remained a lasting symbol of the Valley’s Western heritage and resilience.

As a PRCA-sanctioned rodeo, the event showcases top-tier talent in crowd-favorite competitions like bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, saddle bronc, and team roping — all set against the wide-open backdrop of the Valley.

In addition to the rodeo, the annual concert continues to be a major highlight of the weekend. This year’s concert will feature country artists Chase Rice and Joe Nichols, a lineup expected to draw a strong crowd. With tickets now available online, fans have the advantage of locking in seats early before availability becomes limited.

Beyond the arena, the Ski-Hi Stampede offers a full weekend experience with a community parade, local vendors, food booths, and family-friendly activities throughout Monte Vista — including the always popular Wright’s Amusement Carnival, which brings rides, games, and classic fair treats for all ages. For many, it’s more than just a rodeo — it’s a celebration of Western heritage, local pride, and a tradition that has stood the test of time for generations.

As excitement builds across the Valley, this year’s Ski-Hi Stampede is shaping up to be another unforgettable summer event.
