Fiesta de Santiago y Santa Ana Returns to San Luis for a Historic Celebration

This summer, the historic town of San Luis will celebrate more than just a beloved annual tradition — it will mark a once-in-a-generation milestone in both local and national history.

From July 23 through July 26, the community will gather for the annual Fiesta de Santiago y Santa Ana, a celebration deeply rooted in the culture, heritage, and traditions of the San Luis Valley.

This year’s event carries even greater significance as 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, the 150th anniversary of Colorado statehood, and the 175th anniversary of San Luis — recognized as Colorado’s oldest continuously inhabited town.

For generations, the Fiesta has brought together families, friends, visitors, and former residents to celebrate the traditions and community spirit that have defined San Luis since its founding in 1851. Organizers say this year’s celebration will honor not only the town’s history, but also the people and culture that continue to keep those traditions alive today.

The four-day event will feature a packed lineup of activities including parades, live bands, vendors, food trucks, gallery exhibitions, a duck race, a 10K run, and family-friendly activities throughout the weekend.

One of the most meaningful traditions of the Fiesta, the Mariachi Mass, will once again bring the community together through music, faith, and celebration in a uniquely San Luis experience that reflects the area’s deep cultural roots.

The Fiesta de Santiago y Santa Ana has long served as both a reunion and a celebration — welcoming longtime residents, returning families, and visitors from across the region to experience the warmth and hospitality of one of Colorado’s most historic communities.

With three historic anniversaries converging in one year, organizers expect the 2026 celebration to be especially memorable.

Whether you come for the food, music, traditions, or history, San Luis invites everyone to join in celebrating the culture and heritage that continue to thrive in the heart of the San Luis Valley.
