Learn about rural jump-start program and electronic manufacturing companies

ALAMOSA— HemCS United Inc., a subsidiary of Switzerland-based Hemar Group, is set to establish its U.S. operations and manufacturing division in Alamosa, Colorado.

This expansion is supported by the state's Rural Jump-Start program, which aims to stimulate economic growth in rural areas.

HemCS United specializes in providing customized electronics manufacturing services, including engineering and design, prototyping, production, and advanced testing.

The company serves clients across various sectors such as medical technology, defense, industrial automation, and consumer electronics.

In addition to the new Alamosa facility, HemCS United maintains an engineering headquarters in downtown Denver.

Governor Jared Polis expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating that investing in rural communities strengthens the entire state.

He highlighted that HemCS United's participation in the Rural Jump-Start program will bolster electronics manufacturing, create well-paying rural jobs, and support the local economy in southern Colorado.

Patrick Schaer, Owner and CEO of HemCS United, shared his excitement about becoming part of the San Luis Valley community.

He emphasized that the Rural Jump-Start program enabled the company to bring advanced electronics manufacturing to a region with significant potential.

Schaer stated that their goal is to create high-quality jobs and build a long-term presence in Alamosa while supporting innovative companies in need of reliable engineering and production partners.

The Rural Jump-Start program is designed to encourage economic development and job creation in economically distressed rural counties of Colorado.

It offers benefits such as grant funding and tax exemptions to eligible businesses.

HemCS United will receive $15,000 in grant funding to support the launch of its operations, and eligible employees will benefit from a state personal income tax exemption.

Sponsoring entities like the San Luis Valley Development Resources Group play a crucial role in identifying business candidates and assisting them to ensure success within the program and the community.

Sarah Stoeber, Executive Director of the San Luis Valley Development Resources Group, expressed honor in supporting HemCS United as they establish this innovative industry in the San Luis Valley.

She noted that while the company considered sites outside of Colorado, they ultimately chose Alamosa as their home.

Stoeber highlighted that this investment represents an exciting opportunity to diversify the regional economy, bringing new revenue streams and high-quality job opportunities to the Valley.

She looks forward to supporting HemCS United's continued success through available state and local incentives.
