Monte Vista residents may not have to wait much longer for a new automotive parts option in town as the city’s new AutoZone location appears to be entering its final stages before opening.
Located along one of Monte Vista’s main commercial corridors, the new store has quickly become noticeable thanks to its bright orange signage and freshly completed exterior. Parking lot striping, sidewalks, lighting, and exterior finishes all appear largely complete, giving the building a nearly ready appearance from the outside.
However, a closer look through the store’s front windows suggests there is still work happening inside before customers can walk through the doors. At the time of this writing, shelving and inventory were not yet visible inside the building, indicating interior setup and stocking operations are still underway.
The San Luis Valley Beat also contacted AutoZone corporate representatives, who stated the Monte Vista store is currently estimated to be approximately two to three weeks away from opening.
While the exterior construction phase appears mostly complete, retail auto parts stores require extensive interior preparation before opening day. That process can include installing shelving systems, stocking thousands of parts, setting up computer and register systems, employee training, and final inspections.
Once open, the new location is expected to provide local drivers, ranchers, farmers, and do-it-yourself mechanics with expanded access to automotive parts, batteries, fluids, tools, and repair supplies closer to home. AutoZone stores commonly offer services such as battery testing, diagnostic code scanning, and loaner tool programs.
The new store also represents another sign of continued commercial investment in Monte Vista. Over the past several years, residents have seen steady growth in new businesses and retail development throughout the community, something many hope will continue strengthening the local economy and providing additional convenience for Valley residents.
Although an official grand opening date has not yet been announced publicly, it appears Monte Vista drivers may soon have another option for automotive parts and supplies in town. |
